Reason for Participating
Each year I've watched friends climb into the ring to help raise funds for the foundation. Learning just how much this event has helped fund the latest research at MGH in combating childhood brain cancers has been incredibly uplifting. Now I climb into the ring with the knowledge that everything raised by the event goes to such a worthy cause.
TOUGHEST PART OF TRAINING
Learning to move my head while sparing was my most painful lesson - especially since it took so long to learn. I'd concentrate on my opponent, think about a combo... my head would stop and *pow* a quick reminder!
MOST ENJOYABLE PART OF TRAINING
The atmosphere in the club is amazing, its not simply where people are working out. Folks are constantly helping and advising each other. Come in at any time and someone would be up for a few rounds of sparring to work on technique. Always encouraging each other.
HAS YOUR VIEW OF BOXING CHANGED?
Yes. I went in thinking as long as you can go full Rocky, taking all the hits, you can come out on top. In reality you need to defend and counter constantly.
GREATEST SPORTING ACHIEVEMENT
Ran the Disney marathon
